Pitch clear, original features about local places, activities, culture, outings or seasonal ways of spending free time. Strong ideas have a defined reader, a distinct angle and a useful reason to read now, without depending on unsupported claims or access readers cannot share.

A useful pitch

Include a working title, a short summary, the category you have in mind and a few lines about your approach. Say what the reader will understand or be able to consider by the end. If the piece concerns a specific place or event, explain what details may change and how you would handle them.

Before sending
